Today I am super excited to announce the first serial to take place in Pockets Universe, “The Blue Beyond.”
Synopsis:
When an strange new organism crash lands on the small research planet Kazi, Head of Security Nickolas Johns is tasked with destroying it. But that isn’t easy when your past keeps coming back to bite you. Will they be able to stop the spread?
A Little Background…
This is the first is a series of novels that I plan to release serially over the next few years. All stories here on Pockets Universe take place in the same fictional univrese.
Pockets Universe takes place in the 29th century. Mankind has developed wormhole technology that has opened up the galaxy, settling 107 different star systems. One of those systems is the Osara System, which is home to two colonized planets — Osara Prime, and Kazi. Kazi is home to about 10,000 residents at research station on the planet’s surface.
The Osara System is the 5th system in the Ballas Branch:
I started writing “The Blue Beyond” about three years ago. For the last year and half, my first draft had been sitting at about 70% complete. It was one of many stories that I had started that were sitting in various points of completion (or disarray). As I first started to envision what I wanted to create with Pockets Universe, I started going back through those old stories to find ones that had potential and were a good fit for the universe, with some modifications.
Several stories made the cut. “The Blue Beyond,” is the first.
A Small Setting With Big Stakes
“The Blue Beyond” is a smaller, self-contained story that takes place on a single planet, Kazi. But the story that is told here could have a potentially huge impact on the Ring Network at large.
There is a full rich, vibrant history that I want to tell about the Osara System. Some of that is hinted at in this story. But there are a lot of places that we can go from here.
