Planet: Kazi

The Osara System

Kazi is the second planet in the Osara System. On Kazi is Kazi Depot, a research colony, home to more than 10,000 inhabitants, focused on studying Kazi’s plantlife, which grows at a speed more than 100x that of plantlife on Earth.

Kazi is covered in dense tropical rainforests and oceans. Teeming with animal life, Kazi has one of the most breathable atmospheres in colonized space, but has never been considered for the immunization program, because Osara Prime, the capital planet within the system, is also a suitable home for life.

Kazi was home to the first known invasion of the Vore.

Kazi History

Kazi has a rich history beginning in 3158, when it was discovered after the ring gate to the Osara system opened. Then, in 3183, when the first research time made footfall on the planet and discovered the planet’s lush tropical rainforests and abundant oceans. From the very beginning, Kazi’s incredible biodiversity and unique plant life captured the imagination of scientists and researchers across the galaxy.

In the early years, Kazi’s flora and fauna were cataloged and studied by small teams. They discovered that Kazi’s plant life grew at an astonishing rate, ten times faster than any other known planet, and held enormous potential for scientific and commercial applications.

Over time, Kazi’s research program grew, attracting more scientists and funding, which led to new discoveries and breakthroughs. Kazi became a thriving research colony with a growing population of researchers and their families. They constructed research facilities, greenhouses, and laboratories, dedicated to the study and exploration of Kazi’s incredible biodiversity.

One of the most significant discoveries on Kazi was the proliferation of the Kazian genes, that when bioengineered into existing plants, rapidly sped up harvesting cycles. Another was a species of plant that had remarkable healing properties, which was dubbed the “Kazi Healing Fern.” Its discovery brought a new wave of investment in Kazi’s research programs.

As Kazi’s population grew, the colony’s infrastructure expanded. New stations were established to accommodate the growing number of researchers and their families. Monorails were constructed, to connect the various research facilities across the planet.

Kazi became a hub of scientific innovation and research, attracting top scientists and researchers from across the galaxy. Its population has swelled to over 10,000 people, with a thriving community of scientists, their families, and support staff

Locations

  1. Kazi Depot: Kazi Depot is a bustling hub of activity, serving as the primary logistics center for the research colony. It houses warehouses, cargo bays, and a transportation hub that connects the various research outposts and settlements across the planet. The depot is also home to a team of mechanics and engineers, who work tirelessly to maintain the fleet of transport vehicles and spacecraft that support Kazi’s research programs.
  2. Research Facility: The Research Facility is one of the most advanced facilities on Kazi, dedicated to the study and exploration of the planet’s incredible biodiversity. The facility is home to a team of top scientists and researchers, who work tirelessly to unlock the secrets of Kazi’s unique plant life. The facility houses state-of-the-art laboratories, observation decks, and research chambers, enabling scientists to conduct experiments and analyze data in a controlled and safe environment.
  3. Communications Station: The Communications Station is a vital component of Kazi’s infrastructure, providing a critical link between the research colony and the rest of the galaxy. The station houses a team of skilled technicians and engineers, who work around the clock to maintain the complex network of communication systems that enable scientists to stay in contact with their colleagues and loved ones across the galaxy. The station also serves as a hub for emergency communications, ensuring that the colony is always prepared to respond to any crisis or threat that may arise.
